All I Wanna Do Is Worship

I wrote “All I Wanna Do Is Worship” driving home to Wisconsin from a church I had just sung at in the Carolinas. As I drove through the scenic countryside enjoying the beautiful mountains that make up the area, my eyes were filled with the brilliant colors of wildflowers that seemed to be everywhere! “What an amazing world God has created!” It sparked worship, praise and adoration for Him! I sang the chorus of the song over and over again as I went down that road.

A few months later I headed across the country and ended up this time on the West Coast. I had come to another place of immense beauty. As I stood in a church parking lot I looked across a field of green and heard deep rolling thunder in the distance and my second verse was born…

“The grassy fields, the rolling thunder, the world you made is filled with wonder!”

God’s hand is seen everywhere on this earth if we’ll just open our eyes and look!

“And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3)

Of course the greatest wonder of all is that the God who created the whole earth and everything in it, the same One who fills the whole earth with His glory- has come to make His home in me. “Who am I that He should consider me?” has been echoed throughout time by all who have contemplated such a great love from such a mighty God. We seem to be so small in the scheme of things, but in truth, we are at the center of His heart and the apple of His eye!
