Where Has Life Taken You?

One thing I’ve learned about Jesus is that He’s there for the duration- the good, the bad, the ups and downs, whether faith is strong or almost gone- Jesus is faithful. He takes us where we’re at and there’s no need to pretend with Him.

In my experience, life is not always the neat packaged thing that us Christians often make it out to be.

Lest anyone think this song is just about unbelievers needing to find Jesus, let me make it clear- this song is for everyone who needs to find Jesus- Christians included. Christians are not immune to life and the struggles that go along with being in this world. I may be a Christian, and know Jesus, but still be very far from Him.

The promise of this song is that anyone of us may come to the fountain that is Jesus Christ and be made new. Whoever we are and wherever we are in life Jesus offers a fresh start and a new beginning. Yeah, we’re messed up in a million ways and are looking for the meaning and answers to life. Okay, that’s our half, that’s what we bring to the table. But the second half comes from Jesus. He is a fountain that makes everything new- that is what He brings to the table.

“He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.” -Revelation 21:5-6

The blood Jesus shed on the cross is a fountain that brings complete cleansing and is forever powerful and everlasting.

The living water He gives is FREE and flows to everyone who is thirsty and will drink of it.

He’s there for us. The truth is we’re the ones who often fail to come to Him. We wander through life miserable and yet refuse to come to Jesus. Again, I’m talking to believer and unbeliever alike. I’m talking to myself, too. I’ve done exactly the same thing many times. Whenever I’m away, and wandering, and in need, Jesus always reminds me that I can always come to Him, that He’ll never turn me away.

“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.” -Revelation 22:17

“Every one whom the Father gives me will come to me, and him who comes to me I will never on any account drive away.” -John 6:37
