A Mighty Rushing Wind!

“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” -John 3:8

One of the greatest truths about Revival is the Spirit blows where He wants to. We like to think that we can control it, but we can no more control Revival then we can control the wind!

On the day of Pentecost the Spirit Wind blew through an upper room. If you were in that room you got wind blown!

“And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.”-Acts 2:2

Every Revival that I’m aware of in the history of the church has been tied to locality- it occurs regionally and often very specifically. The Spirit might be blowing on Azusa Street and not on Franklin Street! He blows wherever He wants to and it’s really not up to us.

All I know is right now I’m on a Holy Spirit adventure and the Spirit of God is blowing in the area that I live! There are Spirit fires being lit in living rooms all over the area that I live in. There’s worship of God going on here, and the presence of God falling here in ways that blows my mind!

I’ve personally experienced the wind of Revival and the wind continues to blow stronger and stronger. I’m watching that wind blow through the lives of my friends too!

You know what came right after the sound of the mighty rushing wind?

Holy Spirit fire!

“And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…”-Acts 2:3

Just in case you think this only happened once, a couple thousand years ago in an upper room in Jerusalem…

It’s happened to me multiple times over the last year!

I was in a meeting in early 2018 when the wind of God blew through that place and the fire of God came down!

Many times throughout the last year I’ve had similar experiences.

About a month ago I was sitting in someone’s living room and at the exact moment he said that he felt the Holy Spirit’s fire, my entire chest exploded with heat and I was filled with the Holy Spirit!

If your only idea of the Holy Spirit is a gentle dove coming down from heaven let me quicken your faith…

The Spirit of God is also a mighty rushing wind and a Holy Fire!

He’s able to come with such intensity that you don’t just feel it in your heart, you experience Him in your entire body!

Notice what happened in that Upper Room when the Spirit of God was poured out…

First there was an incredible wind, next there were tongues of fire which was followed up by a great outpouring of joy! The people were so ecstatically delirious that onlookers thought they were drunk!

But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” -Acts 2:13

Some people would like to contain this, but you cannot contain the Holy Spirit!
