The Sacrifice
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross was
the ultimate act of God's love. As the Holy Lamb of God He took
away the sin of the world. "He was pierced for our
transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds
we are healed." (Read Isaiah 53) The scriptures tell us that,
"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we
might become the righteousness of God."
In my song "The Sacrifice" I sing, "His body nailed on a tree
for you, there's nothing He held back or wouldn't do... He gave
all He could give... and all He asks is that for Him you
live..." The price for our freedom from sin, death and hell was
the sacrifice of the very Son of God! Seeing that He did that
for you, what should your response be to Him? The clearest
answer is found in 2 Corinthians 5.15 "And He died for all, that
those who live should live not for themselves, but for Him who
died for them and was raised again." Yes, all He asks is that
you live for Him!
I hope my song will serve as a reminder of the awesome love
Jesus has for you... how high and wide and deep is the love of
Christ! The more we ponder it, the more wonderful it all is! And
may His love compel you to lay down your life, and live it for
the One who loves you most!
