If you're like most people... you want to go to heaven.  That's what this section is all about.  If it sounds serious,  it's because it IS serious! You will spend eternity in either heaven or hell.  Don't you owe it to yourself to think it through?

Here are some things to think about from God's Word:

In the beginning God created us to have a relationship with Him.

In the garden of Eden God actually walked with Adam and Eve

and talked to them!

"...the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD GOD

as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day..."

-Genesis 3:8

Adam and Eve had a good thing going on!  They were in a perfect

relationship with God.  They had every thing they needed and

actually were friends with the Creator of the universe!  Did you

know God is like that?  There was a time where Jesus asked His

disciples out for breakfast!

"Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast..."

-John 21.12

There's no one more personal than God.  He loves us and loves

to spend time with us!

Then sin entered the picture.  Everything was going fine until

Adam and Eve sinned.  When we sin we break that friendship.

Sin separates us from God.

"But your iniquities have separated you from God;  your sins

have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."

-Isaiah 58:2

If you read the story in Genesis you'll notice that after they

sinned they became afraid of Him.  Everything changed for

them after they sinned.  Sin is a relationship killer when it

comes to God.  It goes against everything God is and stands

for.  Sin also goes against everything He created us to be.

Since God is holy He cannot accept sin.

It's important to understand that your sin will separate

you from God.

In order for you to be friends with God something has to

be done about sin.  This is what a lot of people don't

understand.  I used to think,  "God loves everyone, sure

I'm not perfect, but He'll look past it and let me into heaven."

I was so wrong!  It sounded nice, but it's not the truth.

He won't just look the other way when it comes to your

sins either.  He loves you,  but He seriously hates sin and

it will kill your relationship with Him.  Not only that...

If you die in your sin you will be separated from God

for eternity.

Life is short and most of it will be spent in eternity, not here-

"As for man,

his days are like grass,

he flourishes like

a flower of the field;

the wind blows over it

and it is gone, and it's place remembers

it no more."

-Psalm 103.15-16

Heaven and hell are as real as death.  Where will you spend eternity?  The time to deal with this question is now.  If you wait

until you die it will be too late!

"..man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."

-Hebrews 9.27

You can see how serious that is.  You don't get the chance to do

things over or suddenly give your life to God after you die.  This is

why understanding what Jesus has done for you is so important.

It will affect your eternal destiny.  For that reason God makes it

as clear as He possibly can:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,  but whoever

rejects the Son will not see life,  for God's wrath remains on

him."

-John 3:36

Your eternal future depends on whether you accept or reject Jesus!

Most people believe it depends on how good or bad they are;  they

hope the good outweighs the bad and that's how they will get to

heaven.  Please read the verse again because it does not say that.

It says it all depends on if you accept or reject Jesus.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,  but whoever

rejects the Son will not see life,  for God's wrath remains on

him."

-John 3:36

Another thing you'll notice is that if you reject Jesus,  God's wrath

remains on you.  Do you believe that's true?  A lot of people don't,

they'll say things like this:

"God's wrath?  That doesn't seem like God!"

"I like to think of God as loving."

"He isn't angry...He loves everyone!"

"He's not going to send people to hell."

The bible says something different though...God IS angry.  He's

angry about sin and He punishes those who commit it.   It might

not be popular, but if you want to understand God, you HAVE to

deal with sin; you can't ignore it because it's serious to Him.

"He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey

the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  They will be punished

with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence

of the Lord and the majesty of His power..."

-2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

God is not neutral about sin.

"The wages of sin is death"

-Romans 6.23

"But I will show you whom you should fear:  Fear Him who,

after the killing of the body,  has power to throw you into

hell.  Yes, I tell you, fear Him.

-Luke 12:5

The point of all this,  is that both heaven and hell are real places.

The idea that God is not angry about your sin is a myth. The idea

that he will not send people to hell is a lie. The only real question

is, what can you do about it?

The answer might surprise you,  but you can do NOTHING about it!

You are powerless to save yourself.  You will never be able to be

good enough to get to heaven on your own.  No matter how hard

you try it'll never be enough.  Why do you think Jesus came to this

world?  Why did God send Him?  If you could save yourself He never

would have had to come.  So why did He come here?

Jesus left heaven ,to come here, to save you.  It's that simple.  He came here to save you because you will never be able to save yourself.

This is what happened at the cross when He died:

The innocent one... Jesus, gave Himself as a sacrifice to free the guilty one...you. He was punished for your sins

"The wages of sin are death"-Romans 6.23

He died, therefore, in your place for your sins.  In other words,  He took the blame for what you did, and He was punished for things you deserved to be punished for.  That's what Jesus dying on the cross was all about.

The price to pay for your sins is death, and Jesus paid it with His

own life by dying for you so you wouldn't have to.  Three days later He rose from the dead.  He took care of the problem of our sin and He defeated death.  He's offering eternal life to you right now.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,

that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."  John 3:16-17

"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,

even so the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it."

John 5:21

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."

Eternal life is a free gift given by God.  It is only given to those who receive Jesus.

"Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name,

He gave the right to become children of God..." John 1.12

For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Romans 10.13

Why wait?  God tells us today is the day of salvation.  We have no

guarantee of tomorrow.  Where you will spend eternity is the most

important issue you will ever face.  If you need help praying please

read "Pray to Jesus" and call on Him today.
