Lord of Lords and King of Kings

“Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.” (John 21:25)

As a child I had a few bible books that intrigued me. They told stories of long ago and far away places and were illustrated with wonderfully imaginative drawings. One of my favorites was an old thick green book about the life of Jesus. In it’s pages were hidden treasures revealing how heaven came down to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. I can still remember pondering the gravity and glory of it all, captivated by the spiritual world told about in those worn pages.

Many years passed before I discovered that the Son of God, so often spoken about and written about, is in fact, KNOWABLE.

It’s not enough just to read the stories, Jesus is writing new ones all the time- Your life can be part of His story. In fact, that’s the whole reason the bible was written- to make your life part of the greatest story ever told!

“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:30-31)

So if you’ve kind of walked away from it all and said, “Yeah, I’ve heard it all before”, or if you’ve been sitting in a church listening to the same thing since you were ten and are bored out of your skull, consider this- maybe YOU need to be part of the story! It stops being boring when you become part of the story. Much that goes by the name “Christianity” is nothing more than a spectator sport. Jesus didn’t say “watch me”, He said, “Come FOLLOW me!”

“A long, long time ago there was a man who fell in love,
with a world who had turned it’s back,
on His Father and His God…”

-From Lord of Lords and King of Kings
