I asked Jesus into my heart- now He wants my hands and feet, and eyes and ears!!
I came across a post today authored by “Cris” that totally grabbed and arrested my attention:
Jesus doesn’t need your heart (if that’s all you’re giving Him).
Wow! Did that ever make me think! Especially when it was followed by this verse:
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…” (Romans 12:1)
Jesus doesn’t just want my heart… He wants ALL of me!
It’s one thing to say that Jesus has our heart, and totally another to back up our claim with actions. It’s one thing to say we asked Jesus “into our heart” and totally another to lay down our lives, bearing fruit, proving that we really have been born again and made His.
“This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” (1John 1:6)
It’s worth repeating: Talk really is cheap- Jesus not only wants my heart, He wants ALL of me!
