Hyperinflation and the return of Jesus
With the economy the way it is everyone’s talking about the fall of the dollar, a possible new world reserve currency, and of course, hyperinflation. Gold and silver prices have gone through the roof as people rush for a safe haven. In answer to one blogger’s question as to how much time they’d have to prepare if hyperinflation hit, one person commented:
“By the time you realize that hyperinflation has set in it will already be too late.”
That pretty much sums it up.
According to one article on CNBC on the subject, “The worst hyperinflation situations of all time”, hyperinflation is like having the price you paid for your cup of coffee double in the amount of time it just took you to finish your first cup! “What? You’d like another? That’ll be twice the price please!” Hyperinflation can be so rapid that it literally can happen overnight.
Sounds like when it comes to hyperinflation if you haven’t prepared ahead of time, you’re going to be out of luck!
I hope you didn’t come here looking for financial advice because I have none to give you. But it’s not lost on me that Jesus is going to come back to this earth faster than any hyperinflation could ever occur.
“Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
His return is going to catch a lot of people by surprise, that’s why Jesus tells us:
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.” (Matthew 24:44)
When the event happens; when Jesus returns; if you’re not ready it will already be too late!
Being ready for Jesus’ return is far more important than being ready for hyperinflation
I care about our finances, otherwise I wouldn’t be online trying to learn as much as I can about where we’re heading economically. But losing money, as bad as that’d be, is nothing compared to those who could potentially lose their very soul and be eternally separated from God if they are not prepared for eternity.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)
As I was online today searching for information on the economy I came across an interesting post. Someone had said it’s better to be prepared for hyperinflation and not be caught off guard, and used Noah and the ark as an example. Of course not everyone likes hearing from the bible (especially on a thread about the economy). One guy called the story about Noah “a fairy tale” and said the bible used scare tactics to control people. It reminded me of this verse:
“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” (2 Peter 3:3-4)
As I said earlier, I can’t offer you any advice on hyperinflation and whether we’ll actually see it in the USA or not, but I can offer you something FAR more important- the “advice” I gave our skeptic of the bible:
Something bigger than hyperinflation is coming. Don’t be so quick to dismiss what the bible says, it has a better track record of predicting future events than any stock market expert.
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:37-39)
It’s not a fear tactic to tell the truth. Better to know the facts and be prepared than be suddenly surprised- by Jesus or hyperinflation!
