Can I change the world?

I’d just come back from a prayer walk when I asked myself that question.  It’s tempting to think that the answer is “no”.  What can one person do to change the world?  I’m sure the devil would agree and tell me it’s a waste to even bother trying.  I was actually praying about my songwriting when my prayer walk started; I’d just finished my latest song, and was getting ready to post it online.  Would all the time, prayer, emotion, and money invested make a difference?  I was having my doubts; and the devil was right there reinforcing them… “Get real!  You can’t make a difference.”

Good thing the devil can only get as far as the outside; I’ve got the Holy Spirit living on the INSIDE!  Hallelujah!  That means the Holy Spirit will always be closer to me than the devil.  Think about THAT when discouragement comes!

And what does the Holy Spirit have to say?

“Now to Him who is able to do IMMEASURABLY MORE than all we ask or imagine, ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US…”  (Ephesians 3:20)

So maybe I can’t change the world, but CHRIST IN ME certainly can.  I had been thinking of things all wrong; focusing on the limitations… “It’s just some words and some music.  What can God do with THAT?”  IMMEASURABLY MORE than all I can ask or imagine I guess!  You know, if we Christians could get a hold of that… what a difference it would make in our world; what possibilities exist when God’s at work!

Brother and sister in Christ… Jesus is living in YOU!  Scripture tells us that “Christ in you is the hope of glory”!  (Colossians 1:27)  God wants to use you.  Grab a hold of that and don’t be discouraged.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  (Ephesians 2:10)
